Fri 06: Sailed to Maher Island [9] to explore cave, sailed to Neck Bay [10] for walk thru, anchored at Burning Point [8]
Sat 07: Sailed north in channel, broke boom, in Hamo [1] for repairs, sailed to mooring in Blue Pearl Bay [3]
Sun 08: Sailed to Nara [11] for cave and waterfall then sailed to Cid Harbour [12] to anchor and jungle trek
Mon 09: Sailed to Hamo [1] to catch flight to Melbourne
We had the same Jeanneau 35 called Prickly Pear
Waiting for Solomon earthquake tsunami at 11:44 then went rock jumping
The boys led the way showing stylish aerials
Collective effort got Grace into the air and even David jumped
Under water: clown (anenome) fish and parrot fish
The walk from Tongue Bay leads to beautiful Whitehaven Beach
Beach was covered in soldier crabs which Alex gleefully scooped up
We could not resist the tourist shots on Whitehaven Beach
even with a special twist and moonstruck flourish
Evenings brought fabulous skyscapes and busy barbeque
After all the excitement a shower and well earned rest
Mangroves brought big smiles and strange critters and more photo ops
Dingy rides prove it is the journey not the destination that counts
Unconventional use of the boat chilling out in the main sail and swinging on the spinnacker
which Alex and Grace demostrated a deux and hanging off the back
After warm up in Cid Harbour we got lost in the jungle
amid tall hoop trees and strange fungus

Upwelling waters from a 3000m deep trench just off Bali make for spectacular (and cold) diving
including an amazing variety of nudibranches

David moved from Singapore to Helsinki in October.
We started our holiday in Verbier which was at times exhausting,
at times spectacular (if brown), and always great fun.
Van Uchelens joined us for a day and we all ended up snowboarding.
We drove down for Navacelles for family xmas.
Beautifully prepared by Grandma and enjoyed by all.
Clement weather allowed us to play in the park.
Everybody loved their presents, especially Grandpa his blast from the past.

Alex got iPod speakers for his birthday party with the girls.
We went diving at Bastiano in Bunaken near Manado, Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Rooms are basic and no running water, with interesting room mates.
The diving was spectacular! We saw turtles & sharks
And lots of exotic stuff like seahorses & yellow scorpionfish & sea snakes
& frogfish & leafy ghostfish & spanish dancer & lacey scorpionfish
We saw nudibranches & sharks & scorpions & moray eels
There was lots of other fishes & shrimps and crabs & other stuff
The sunsets were spectacular and the smiles luminous.
